Specific detection of three Torradovirus species with digoxigen-labeled probes

چکیده
Background Torradoviruses are an emerging group of picorna-like plant virus from the family Secoviridae that infect tomato and other Solanaceae species. The genus Torradovirus include four species: Tomato torrado virus (ToTV), first found in Europe, and afterward in Central America and Australia; Tomato apex necrosis virus (ToANV), present in Mexico; Tomato chocolate spot virus (ToChSV) and Tomato chocolate virus (ToChV), both found in Guatemala. The symptoms caused by these viruses include chlorotic regions on the leaves that may develop to necrotic spots and holes, while the fruits show necrotic lines and frequently cracks on the surface, reducing yield and quality [1]. Even though these viruses have not yet been found in Brazil, the sudden spread of ToTV from Europe to Australia and Central America emphasize the necessity of effective methods to detect them. For that reason, we have developed digoxigenin-labelled RNA probes for the detection of three torradoviruses, ToANV, ToChSV and ToTV, through hybridization.

Specific Primers For Identification and Detection of Three Major Desert Truffle Species in Iran with Special Reference to Terfezia claveryi
ABSTRACT- Desert truffles are hypogeous ascomyceteous ectomycorrhizal fungi, occurring in arid and semi-arid ecosystems. A PCR-based method was developed for the identification of 3 major desert truffles of Iran: Terfezia claveryi, Tirmania pinoyi and Tirmania nivea based on internal transcribed spacers of rDNA. Two specific PCR primers were designed for T. claveryi, 4 for T. pinoyi, and 2 for ...
متن کاملRolling Circle Amplification (RCA): an approach for quick detection and identification of fungal species
Conventional methods for fungal identification in the clinical laboratory rely on morphological andphysiological tests. These tests often need several days or weeks to complete and are frequentlyunspecific. Molecular identification mostly implies sequencing, which is relatively expensive andtime-consuming, as well as impractical for large numbers of isolates. The Rolling CircleAmplification app...
متن کاملFiber-optic microarray for simultaneous detection of multiple harmful algal bloom species.
Harmful algal blooms (HABs) are a serious threat to coastal resources, causing a variety of impacts on public health, regional economies, and ecosystems. Plankton analysis is a valuable component of many HAB monitoring and research programs, but the diversity of plankton poses a problem in discriminating toxic from nontoxic species using conventional detection methods. Here we describe a sensit...
متن کاملI-55: Molecular Imaging Overview
Molecular imaging is the noninvasive visualization of normal as well as abnormal cellular processes at a molecular or genetic level of function. It is used to provide characterization and measurement of biological processes in living animals and humans (in vivo). The discipline of molecular imaging evolved rapidly over the past decade through the integration of cell biology, molecular biology a...
